Content Quake in the News
The Content Quake blog network is growing and starting to turn a few heads in the process. Not only are we proud to announce two new weblogs, Cell Phones Zone and Edu Tech, but we are also happy to note that a small article about the network was in the most recent issue of the Pulse Journal out of Northern Cincinnati!
Have a look at the article below, its linked and transcripted as well…..
Local Bloggers Link to Cash

Write about what you love and make a little cash while doing so.
That’s the driving idea behind Content Quake, a network of Web logs, or blogs, that allows people to write about a topic without worrying about the technical details of maintaining a site. Calculating how many page views a blog receives in a span of time factors into the writer’s share of the network’s ad revenues.
Liberty Twp. resident Paul McGillivary, 34, and his friend Joe Long, 29, had been blogging for about a year when they came up with the idea. McGillivary runs Paul Tech, a blog brimming with tech reviews and advice at gopaultech.com. Long, a deejay for WOXY.com, runs Each Note Secure, a independent music blog at eachnotesecure.com.
“We both started our individual sites as a hobby,” said McGillivary. “But we soon found out that we could monetize them pretty well. That has pushed us down a path we really didn’t expect to go.”
Three months ago, McGillivary and Long created Content Quake and allowed about a dozen people to test the platform. The two friends plan to take the blog network public within the next month.
Content Quake provides all-in-one services so that bloggers need not fear the technical aspects of site creation and maintenance, McGillivary said.
“We kind of hold their hand,” he said. “They can basically just write.”
Long said his blogging experience has allowed him to express his music-related musings to like-minded individuals and not risk the blank stares of friends and family.
“With the Web, you have a much broader audience,” he said, “I was able to start with that outlet (of blogging) and not annoy my friends at the same time.”
For now, Content Quake advertises via a program called Google Ad Sense, which allows Web site publishers to display relevant Google ads and earn money, McGillivary said.
Once launched, the blogging network also will offer banner advertisements to regional and national businesses, he said.
Those who think they can’t write a blog on a regular basis should think again, McGillivary said.
“It’s really just a matter of finding something you love and then writing about that,” he said.
