Google Changes Referral Programs

Google seems to be in the business of ticking people off lately.  Especially their publishers.  I understand that there are business reasons for making certain actions.  I totally understand that - you’re a business and you need to remain profitable.  But there are ways to do things - even if they are unpopular actions.

Problogger had a great post explaining all the ins and outs of the decision.  I first saw the story on Blogging Mix.  Anyway, the issue of locale must have some magic consequence on the business rationale here.  But I would argue, that aside, Google needs to do a better job communicating with their publishers in that regard.  Bad news is even worse when it isn’t communicated well and often.
